Post Questions about 6 ohm speakers.

Hello all, my question is about 6 ohm speakers. I just got to hear the JAMO C-803 bookshelf speakers and was totally amazed by sound!! But on closer inspection i saw these speakers are 6 ohm and that confuses me. What avr would i need to power these speakers? Any danger of hurting receiver or speakers if i get a 80 watt rated receiver. Plan on a 5.1 surround system, starting with L/R and center speakers. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Nick, You will not hurt anything by connecting those 6ohm speakers to any AVR that has an 8ohm output.
    Enjoy!!!

As Don mentioned, you should be fine using these with just about any receiver. 6 ohms is a little less resistance than 8 ohms but most decent receivers can handle a load as low as 4 ohms in certain frequency ranges. You will actually probably get slightly more than the receiver's 8-ohm pwoer rating when driving 6 ohm speakers.
