    Default DMP-BD35K Settings

    I have a Denon 3808CI AVR in a 5.1 config and just purchased a BD35k blu-ray player.

I will be hooking it up via HDMI cable to pass video and audio.

I have an oppo dvd-780H player that I have hooked up HDMI as well.

My question is this. When configuring sound prefrences in my OPPO I needed to make sure I set all my speakers to LARGE as per the user manual(When using HDMI and AVR). I wanted to know if I need to do the same for the Panasonic. I have calibrated my speakers through my Denon Audsseyss setup and do not want anything to mess with the intergraty of the calibration.

I will be bitstreaming HD audio so the reciever will be handling all the de coding. I am just not sure if the panasonic uses any of the sound settings information over HDMI like my OPPO did.

You will not have to mess with any speaker settings in the Panasonic whether you bitstream or send multichannel PCM, the Denon should handle all the bass management and time alignment.

    Hi,

The only settings you need to worry about on the BD35 for you are setting DTS and Dolby to "bitstream" and set BD Secondary Audio to Off. Both of these are in the Digital Audio Ouput settings.

On the BD55, the speaker settings (size, distance, level) are only for the multi-channel analog outputs (not HDMI). I don't think the BD35 even has these set-up options as it only has a 2-channel analog output.

All of your audio calibration settings on your receiver will be applied to the BD35 if you connect it via HDMI.

    Regards,
