Default Analog 5.1 Bluray vs. other source volumes

So I'm getting set up with a bluray player using 5.1 analog outputs. I'm noticing that my digital coaxial and optical sources (broadcast TV and Oppo DVD player) are actually about 12 db quieter than my bluray via analog. Am I missing something, or is this normal?

Actually many people report the opposite, but this really varies depending on the input sensitivity of your receiver's multi-channel analog inputs. I assume you don't have the levels boosted above 0 dB in your Blu-ray player, do you? And does your receiver have any gain controls that apply to the multi-channel analog inputs?
