J&R seems to have gotten a few of the DMP-BD80 in stock:

Chris - I just found it at B&H photo for $189.95 w/free shipping (and no sales tax if not NY State resident). Although higher than I could have gotten it a month ago, it is a bargain relative to the few you can find today and for the past few weeks, so I placed an order today. Question is whether or not they'll produce more 2009 versions in large enough quantity so that places like Amazon will restock themselves and again offer pricing down to !60-170s? (I'd go with the BD60 but I need the 7.1 analog outputs for my non HDMI Denon receiver.)

Again - thanks for all your help that makes me more confident that this is the right unit for me at this price point. (Though I'd love to go with the OPPO, just can't justify the higher $$ at this time.) I may be back in touch with set-up questions in a week or two. For now, I'm going to shop online to see if I can find a bundled/integrated analog audio cable instead of multiple individual cables.

    Cheers,
    -Doug

Cool. I assume you used our affiliate link to B&H from our BPBS online shopping page right?

Also, Amazon seems to have gotten a few in stock as well, also $189.95 but with a $30 credit on Amazon video-on-demand which makes it a much better deal (while supplies last):
