Default yamaha rx-v465 out of range problem

We can not find out what is wrong with this reciever. we had direct tv signal and blue ray signal last night, meaning pic and sound. tonight we can watch direct tv but when we put in a blue ray we got sound and no pic, and an error messsage that says out of range. we tried a new disc, changed dvd players, reset the reciever to factory settings, and still no pic with the dvd but the direct tv works fine any one know what is wrong?

Need a little more information. What is the model and brand of Blu-ray player and how do you have it connected to the receiver? Are you using HDMI or some other connection? If HDMI, which HDMI input is this connected to on the receiver and have you tried one of the other HDMI inputs?

And are you using any additional HDMI switches in the chain or just the receiver?

And if you plug the Blu-ray player directly into one of the available HDMI inputs on the TV do you get the picture and sound?

    Regards,

    Default Same Issue

I'm having a similar issue and I'm open to any suggestions or input. I'm going through the process of upgrading to 1080p and started with a new blu ray player and a receiver. The projector is next on the list.

Now for my equipment. I have a Yamaha DPX-1100 projector. I purchased an HK AVR-3600 Receiver and the BDP-1 Blu Ray player and I am using a Dish Network HD receiver. I had these hooked up via HDMI and was able to display a picture, but there was quite a bit of lag time when changing channels. I figured it may be the HK receiver and since this unit was only a temporary unit until I found a used Onkyo TX-SR876 I didn't think much about it.

When I installed the TX-SR876 and connected via HDMI, my projector gave me the message of "out of range". I've disconnected the cable going from the receiver to the projector and made a direct connection with the source units and everything works fine. The cable is 10M which I know is quite a distance, but it is very good quality (Gefen) and it works connected directly to the source. The cable from the source units to the receiver is 2M and it seems like the extra 6 feet is giving my projector a problem.

I also tried using a Yamaha RX-V665 to see if that would make a difference, but I got the same "out of range" message. Knowing that I've got good quality cables, I assume my next step is to get an HDMI extender that will amplify the signal. I can't think of any other solution. I've reconnected everything using component cables and everything works fine.

    Any comments or suggestions?
