Default VHS Tape Goes 1080p for HDTV: Panasonic's DMP-BD70V Blu-ray/VHS Deck

Old meets new in Panasonic's DMP-BD70V universal media player. It plays videos back from SD card, Blu-ray Disc, DVD and VHS tape, upconverting everything to 1080p resolution for optimized viewing on HDTV displays.

    Default I Like it But.......

I like the feature of being able to play my VHS tapes but what do I lose over the BD-80 if I go that route?

The only thing you lose in the BD70V vs. the BD80 is the multi-channel analog outputs. If you do your surround sournd via HDMI or fiber or coax S/PDIF connections, then you don't need the analog outputs of the BD80.

Basically, the BD70V is like a BD60 with a VHS player.

    Default Thanks for the reply

I probably will go that route because with the Denon 3808 and a 1080p tv it just might do it.
I have some indy race tapes from the early 80's and of course my 18+ year old wedding tapes.
