Before I purchased my Denon AVR-3808, I auditioned the equivalent Sony and Yamaha. Niether had all the features the Denon had. The Sony sounded "THIN" to my ears and the Yamaha sounded too "Metallic", if that is an apt description.

Not a hiccup from the Denon in nearly 2 years. If anything it's even better after break-in!!! And it's still in the product lineup!!!
