Default VIZIO SV470XVT 120 Hz 1080p LCD HDTV

The best-ever LCD offering from reasonably-priced manufacturer VIZIO brings big-league features like 120Hz Smooth Motion video processing, which might take a little getting used to.

    Default Vizio VP505XVT or VF550XVT

I'm on the lookout for either the Vizio VP505XVT or the VF550XVT. Can't decide, but the price, from Vizio is always good - the technology seems to be growing in leaps and bounds too. Cnet gave the 50" a great review, so now I'm just waiting to see if I can really last until January for another 5"!

Good thing is that I just saw they are sending out text messages when their stuff goes on all or is released all you gott ado is text VIZIO to 67463 and it tells you what to do which pretty cool!

Very different sets. Very different technologies. We have the 50-inch plasma in for review now (the 505) and while there are definitely some performance advantages to it (specifically the HQV processing), there are some behavioral oddities as well, like the inability to set aspect ratio on HDMI sources connected at 1080p or even on programs received by the set's own internal ATSC tuner. It automatically stretches 4:3 material from the set's built-in tuner to 16:9 and gives you no way to override that. Pretty fundamental problem and a step backwards from previous models.

More details will be forthcoming in our complete review after CES.
