The single thing that makes a bulb replacement happen more frequently is not the source, but the settings on the TV itself. If you are running your Mitsubishi TV in "brilliant" mode, the bulb is running much hotter than it should and the hotter the bulb is run, the shorter the life. Set it instead into one of the movie modes and the bulb will last significantly longer.
Or get rid of it and get an LED or plasma set. These don't have bulbs and will generally last significantly longer under normal use.
