Default Black Rectangular Box Appears on Haier TV

Hi Chris, I thought I could stay away. A funny little problem keeps cropping up, that never did on my old TV. Periodically when I'm trying to set, adjust, settings, I get a black rectangle about 60-70% of the total screen, that sits centered on the screen. I can't figure out if it is a button I am pushing or something else. I did it when I pushed Menu while looking at a movie options, but that is not the only time it happens. At least it does go away after 15 - 20 seconds, but is very aggravating. It also happens with different hand controls.

We do have my plug loaded now on our website www.icufr.org Scroll down to Tech Tips and click on "The Big Picture Big Sound Forum - an incredible source of help" I even got your forum Logo into it.

    Hi, Carl,

I moved this to a new thread as it's unrelated to the previous discussion. The big rectangular box on a Haier TV can come when you have enabled analog captions on the TV in one of its TEXT modes (Text 1, Text 2, Text 4). Turn these off in the Function menu of your TV to get rid of the box.

Check it out and let us know if it works.
