Default LG lcd with True Motion off

I was told this feature creates some not really nice effect on this lcd, but when this feature is turn off does the tv still process the movies at 120Hz ????? Or goes back to 60Hz..
Just curious if I could benefit from the faster 120Hz when not using true motion..

    Thanks

Whether the effect is "not really nice" or not, is subject to personal preference. When you do frame interpolation - which means coming up with intermediate full screen images in between each recorded one - you get what some people feel is artificial-looking motion (the "soap opera effect"), while others think it looks more realistic. Film "purists" who want to present movies in the same frame rates as shot normally like to have a native 24p mode which simply repeats the frame multiple times or inserts a black frame in between.

For most LG sets, with a 1080p/24 input if you turn "True Motion" off but leave "Real Cinema" on, you will get 5:5 pulldown - in other words, the TV will repeat each one of the 24p frames 5 times. This way you get the motion blur reduction benefits of 120 Hz but without any artificial processing of the video signal. So the answer is most likely yes, depending on the specific set.
