    Default Good Deal?

I've been interested in a new audio receiver and speakers for a while and I think I've found a good deal. There's a guy who has a Harman Kardon AVR 254 receiver and he's got the Bose Acoustimass 10 series 6 speaker system with it and the wall speaker mounts. I can get it all for $400. Should I jump on this?

It's a good price, but it's only a good DEAL if it serves your needs. The AVR254 is HDMI 1.3a so it won't pass 3D. And even if you don't care about 3D now, it's always good to be ready for the future. And although there are fans of Bose speakers, I'm not one of them. They have brand appeal (to some) but are not necessarily the highest performance speakers you can get for the money.

It wouldn't be a system that I would buy, personally, but if you've heard the system and like it, and if you don't care at all about 3D or future upgradability, then it's worth consideration.
