I finished reading the review for the Panasonic SC-BTT770.
Unfortunately the review doesn't mention support for the Super Audio CD format.
Does anyone know if the SC-BTT770 supports SACDs?

The review does mention disc support and neither DVD-A nor SACD disc formats are among the supported disc formats. If the SACD disc has a CD layer (most do), then it can play that back, but these are standard CD 2-channel. Same goes for DVD-A. DVD-A discs almost always have standard DVD layers (with standard lossy DVD DTS or Dolby Digital sound) and these can be played back in the BTT770. But you won't get native support for SACD or DVD-A on this system.
About the only Blu-ray players that support SACD these days are Sony, Denon and OPPO (there may be other high end players with support as well). Sony probably makes an HTiB system with SACD support but we haven't reviewed any that do.

Thanks, Chris.
Any chance you'll be reviewing the Sony BDV-HZ970W any time soon?
According to this review, it supports SACDs.
I sure wish DVD-A or SACD would take off.
Not likely we will be reviewing that piece any time soon. But gizmodo does have a brief review of it that went live yesterday:

As for DVD-Audio or SACD taking off, that ship sailed a long time ago with no one on it. There are some music titles being released in lossless audio on Blu-ray si this is probably the best hope for high resolution multi-channel audio formats. There was even a spec (BD-ROM 3.0?) for audio-only Blu-ray Discs. These would allow you to play tracks without the need to see an on-screen menu. But I haven't seen much discussion of that lately.
If you want support for all of the formats, I'd suggest the Denon or OPPO Blu-ray players paired with a good receiver and speakers. A home theater in a box is never really going to be fully capable of the nuances in sound that are available on these high res formats.
Anyway, good luck!
