    Question Need audio receiver advice

I'm trying to get in on the electronics-expo deal with either a Harman Karmon HK3390 for $211.53 or a Harman Karmon HK3490 for $272.39 after using the coupon code FDW35. I dont mind spending the extra money on the more top notch receiver, but i was wondering which one of the two would get the most bang for my buck. I'm in desperate need of a audio receiver, and a friend referred these deals to me. I'm pretty much set on one of the two, i just need advice as to which one to get. I'd rather not spend more money if needed. I plan on using these receivers in my living room for my home theater system.

i cant seem to find link for the hk3490, but it should have similar specs right?

The HK3390 and HK3490 should both be nice receivers, but they're not really designed for home theater. They're only 2-channel stereo receivers. If you want to do home theater, I would recommend getting one of their AVR series multi-channel home theater receivers instead. Here's a complete list of the Harman Kardon receivres on Electronics Expo:

That coupon code of FDW35 works for the home theater receivers as well. The only potential issue with getting one of the Harman Kardon Home Theater receivers is that they only support HDMI 1.3a, which means they cannot do 3D TV passthrough (e.g., from a Blu-ray 3D player or 3D cable or satellite set top box). If you want an affordable home theater receiver that supports HDMI 1.4a with 3D TV passthrough capabilities, then consider a Yamaha or Denon instead. The Yamaha models ending with "67" and the Denon models ending with "11" are the latest ones with HDMI 1.4a support. Here's a link to the entire collection of receivers on Electronics Expo. Apply the coupon code FDW35 at checkout to see the discounts:

The xx11 series Denons are not shipping yet, but the Yamaha x67 series are. Using the FDW35 coupon code, you can get the RX-V467 for $272.93 ($57 off list):

    Yamaha RX-V467 - currently $272.93

And BTW, I modified your other link as we do not allow links to other deal sites or 3rd party affiliate site links as these siphon revenue away from our site.
